Parish Council

Members of the parish council are elected and appointed to serve as a visionary committee.  Meetings are held on the first Thursday of the month.

Finance Committee

Members of the finance committee are appointed by pastor to oversee the parish finances.  Meetings are held the second Monday of each month.

Council of Catholic Women

 

This organization is affiliated with the National CCW organization, which empowers women to assist in parish needs, from prayer, providing church and alter supplies, to hosting various functions and receptions.  All women of the parish are invited to join.

St. Columba Men's Club

 

All men are invited to join.  Purpose of the group is to provide services and financial support to St. Columba youth sports and activities.  Meetings are the first Thursday of the month, September through May.

Perpetual Eucharistic Adoration

 

For over 10 years, St. Columba has been blessed to have Perpetual Eucharistic Adoration in our chapel. Parishioners and non-parishioners sign up to sit one hour with our Lord each week.  Ideally there are two adorers each hour.  Sign up  forms are available  in chapel.  Anyone is who cannot sign up for an hour is encouraged to stop by for personal prayer at any time.

Worship and Ministry Opportunities

 

Serving the Lord is both a privilege and responsibility of believers who are a part of a community of believers.  Please consider giving your time as a:  Mass Server (boys & girls - grades 4 and up), Eucharistic Minister, Lector, Sacristan, Usher, or Greeter.  The schedule is prepared 3 months in advance.

Music Ministry

 

Adults and children (Grade 4 and up), are invited to participate as Choir Members and Musical Instrumentalists.  Choir members sing 3 times per month at 9:30 am Mass and for special services during the Advent/Christmas and Lenten/Easter seasonsPractice is held Wednesday evenings at 7:00 PM.

Bible Study

 

There are two bible study groups who meet at St. Columba.  The first group meets once a month, the second Thursday each month at 1:00 PM in the Share Room..  A second bible study group meets twice month, every other Tuesday at 7:00 PM in the Share Room.

Loaves & Fishes

 

The second Friday of each month, St. Columba prepares and serves a meal for those in need at Dorothy Day Center in downtown St. Paul.  Help prepare the meal 2:00 - 4:00 or help serve the meal and clean up from 5:00 - 6:15.  Volunteers serve every other month.

Adult Volleyball League

 

Adult parishioners are invited to join , although space is limited.  The season runs fall through spring, Friday evenings in the school gym.  The cost is $20 per person.

Couple to Couple League Natural Family Planning

Parishioners from St. Columba have been taking NFP classes from CCL since the early 1970s.  CCL is endorsed by the Minneapolis - St. Paul Archdiocese, and is approved by the National Council of Catholic Bishops (NCCB), 3) recognized by the Vatican as authentic Lay Apostolate, and 4) a normal part of marriage preparation in numerous parishes and several US Diocese. http://web.mac.com/ccl.twincities/NFP/Home.html
